muahahah i changed my unglam choco-frenzy photo to this geeky-specky me with a pretty frame. lol!
anyway, i was at Vivo with my mum today and i came across 2 incidents that totally disgrace Singaporeans and her (Singapore's) attempt to be a gracious society. like really. i was awfully disgusted by their actions!
firstly, i was at Candy Empire. (on a side note i absolutely looooveee the chocolates from there!) but there was this indian couple at the pick-and-mix side choosing chocolates. and guess what i saw the lady doing? she took up this chocolate, untwist to open it, looked at it, held it close to her nose, twist it to seal it back, and put it back to it's original state. oh gooodness! seriously unhygienic! then i was conversing w my mum in chinese telling her what that lady is doing. she doesn't believe me and so i asked her to observe that lady. then that lady happen to choose another chocolate to do the same thing. my mum informed the staff and he stood right behind her to make sure she doesn't do it again. in fear of picking that chocolate she picked, i was extremely cautious i had to make sure the wrapper was tight and neat and had no traces of being opened. afterall i only bought 2 types of chocolate. didn't dare to buy more.
secondly, we were at Breadtalk. buying bread (duh) then while we were choosing, this girl maybe say 11-12years old? her mummy at the cashier paying up needed her to pick another bread to make up a certain amount to get a discount i guess so she went around choosing her bread. when she finally made up her mind on this sausage bread she used her hand. i re-emphasize this point. HER BARE HANDS. (or fingers rather) she slightly squeezed (i dunno how to describe that action but yeah u shld have an idea?) each sausage bread before taking the front one to the cashier. i nearly fainted ok! that happened right in front of my eyes! she could've just taken the thongs and pick that bread up. so lack of discipline!
these two incidents already made me feel quite negative about Singaporeans. i guess they're just the black sheep but still. the effort of working towards a more gracious society? HMM. big question mark. ever walked on the streets & a stranger beside you just cough/sneeze without covering his/her mouth? i dunno. probably i'm just biased. but after coming back from Japan thats how i view it to be. just a very big difference between japan's society & ours i guess.
okay i shall not sound so critical but i was really annoyed. anyway, on a lighter note. RETAIL THERAPY ROCKS. (not that i spent alot of money. they're all sale items. lol!) and
IAN's birthday is in a few minutes! (:
